Had heard all kind of bad stories about M16, especially in the early Vietnam problem, my own experience was my favorite M1 Garand and later in combat my 9mm Uzi, that was not the US army of course. When my son ]US army medic[ came back in one piece from Iraq, he told me wonders about his M16, and the way it saved lives. Currently I am serving in the Texas military forces, we were giving the chance to participate in a shooting competition with M9 ]Beretta FS92[ and/or M16 ]AR15[ conforming to very strict limitations, everything had to be US military standard, or close, AR15 for us ]Texas State Guard[, M16 for members of the Texas National Guard, FS92 for us M9 for TXNG etc. I was recommended my DPMS AR15 by Cheaper then Dirt and bought one, I have been amazed by it''s reliability and accuracy, so far I have shot about 4000 rounds, from 100 to 800 yards without a single miss feed, and my grouping with standard ]commercial[ ammo has been tighter then my ]custom[ M1 Garand at same distances. This is one amazing rifle, and Panther arms, produces one heck of a gun.

I bought this gun a little over a year ago after studying many AR''s and finally one day this model jumped out at me on a trip to the gun store. I have not hated that choice once. It shot a little low for the distances I like to shoot out of the box but a quick and easy adjustment solved that. This gun I just can''t miss with I can fire as fast as I want and it just rocks back to being on target immediately after each round. I will add to those that have not bought an AR or been around them they are very reliable and unless you plan on throwing your rifle in the mud they will not malfunction.

Bought this rifle new and it is without a doubt the finest example one could buy. Has shot every kind of ammo I have put in with out a single FTF or jam using stock mags. Got mine for $899 and it was money well spent. Also have a DPMS Panther LR-308 Rifle, Black, RFLR308, .308 Winchester/7.62 NATO, Semi-Auto, A2 Stock, Flat-Top that I have customized to my own liking-wouldn''t trade it for the world.

DPMS PANTHER AP4 CARBINE

Rating: DPMS PANTHER AP4 CARBINE
It is official.2010 I will get an ar-15 carbine.I am crossed between two.An Armalite A4 and the DPMS PANTHER AP4.I prefer A carbine for overal use.Although I will have Pistol as back up.I have shot both ones I am making the decision and I may lean A little more to the Panther. It seemed to shoot A slight bit com- fortable. Each shot excellent and would make good H.D. weapon systems.I own A mini-14 tactical, but its time to upgrade. The only thing is which one is available first.

Nice weapon. Great for the range and sport shooting. I am not a hunter so can''t rate the ability to shoot game but I am sure it would work if that is what you like doing. I have used M-1''s, M-14''s, M-16''s and various other weapon''s while in milatary service and this weapon is as acurate as any of them.
