I have owned one of these rifles for twelve years. I have fired it in a variety of uses, hunting, military and target. It is an extremely versatile carbine. I carried an M-4 while deployed to Iraq in ''04-''05 and it compares and perhaps surpasses my government issue M-4. The M-4 I was issued during that time frame was perhaps the best M-16 series rifle I was issued in my twenty-four years as an infantryman, and I would have traded my HBAR II with it confidently. I believe that we are all familiar with the upper/lower receiver issue, it is similar to the M1911/A1 series government issue pistols. It was all but designed this way, and while the play that sets in after use is a little annoying, it has little or no effect on reliability, accuracy ]contrary to popular belief[, and longevity. A simple $5 part will take out that harmless play if one is so easily annoyed. I''ve even fired my HBAR II under extreme conditions, with over one hundred rounds of tracer and military ball in a German snowstorm. No malfunctions, highly accurate ]for a military grade rifle with no custom work[, and versatile. My HBAR has been configured with different stocks, sights and scopes and performed flawlessly over the years. It provided me with practice during my active duty years, when I felt I was not able to shoot enough as a soldier, which is why I had purchased it. It has now been converted to a pure sporter, laminated wood stocks, 4-14X scope and still can shoot 1MOA with no effort. X Brands compete well, but the original is always the best. I highly recommend it. Configure it how you want it, it will perform solidly.

This rifle is amazing! The fit and finish are very good when compared to other AR-15''s on the market. I have a DPMS rifle as well and the finish and machine-work on the Colt by far nicer than the DPMS. Don''t get me wrong, the DPMS is a good rifle as well. The accuracy is superb as well for a 16in barrel. I have no difficulty hitting things at 300yds, and have shot out to 600yds with it. I love this rifle. I have never had one jam or malfunction that was the rifle''s fault. I''ve shot probably about 1000 round through and had it for five years.

Fantastic firearm. I don''t know why more people don''t comment on this rifle. Solid, smooth, never a single jam, and pin-point accuracy.
